The Keene Sentinel: Red-flag law sought as a way to prevent gun violence in NH
A double-homicide and suicide case involving Troy residents in 2024 was cited Tuesday by supporters of state legislation intended to temporarily take firearms from people judged by a court to pose an immediate and significant risk to themselves or others.
N.H. Sen. Debra Altschiller, D-Stratham, is the prime sponsor of Senate Bill 555, which would have New Hampshire join 22 other states with laws allowing family or household members, or law enforcement officers, to petition a court for a “critical risk prevention order.”
