The Trace: Trump Has Slashed Federal Funding for Gun Violence Prevention. But How Much Exactly?

Another $600 million in terminated grants had gone to other programs closely linked to public safety and gun violence, including pretrial diversion programs, addiction recovery, efforts to help people reintegrate into life after prison, domestic violence prevention, hate crime and domestic terrorism prevention, and mental health services.

Also cut was funding to improve crisis intervention training and state Extreme Risk Protection Order laws (red flag laws), which allow courts to temporarily disarm people deemed a risk to themselves or others.
